Paris was the polar opposite of Rome
Aside from both being old, Rome was HOT. Paris was chilly. All the sights in Rome were within easy walking distance of each other. In Paris we had to take a freaking bus everywhere because it was so much more spread out.
To the tourist, Rome felt disorganized, with crumbling ruins right in the midst of a modern city. In Paris, you got the sense that everything was very neat and clean.
& I loved it all. I couldn't possibly choose between the two. Rome was so spectacular, so impressive, and so humbling. Paris was GORGEOUS and the weather was perfect for sight seeing.
I make no apologies for the amount of pictures in this post. Also, our hotel was 5 minutes from the Eiffel Tower... hence the many pictures of it.
Wow - the Eiffel Tower is spectacular at night! I would love to be there and see these gorgeous sights myself!
